Reflective Statement

Before starting the recording I was thinking about how I was going to accomplish some things that I have on my list, stressing about time and wondering what am I going to do. Then I decided to sit down and listen to the relaxation recording. When I turned it on I felt it was not going to do me any good, I am just too stressed. But, I listened to his voice and did what he said to do, I really relaxed, it was inspiring and truly needed. Carrying heavy weight on your shoulders can wear at your soul and in turn can be hard on your body. Meditation is a great tool to use to keep the weight light enough so you can go through the day with a clear mind.

    I find that I also think about the list of things that I need to do and how am I going to get it all done. Sometimes I think the time spent thinking about how all it is going to get done is more of a stresser than getting it done. I always having index cards that have all my items that I need to get done. I was surprised that the audio really was relaxing. I first tried listening to it while people were still up, that was not working. I had to wait till I was alone because I just could not focus. I think that is the hardest part for me is having that time to just stop and relax. I have to agree with you that carrying the weight of stress can really wear you out.

  2. Hi Stacia, dealing with stress seems to have become a way of life for me, just trying to calmly deal with a new complication daily has become routine. I now try my hardest to not let them get me too upset or get to me, as I am slowly but surely becoming much better at finding the answers to the problems they entail.

    I love meditation!!! It was really hard for me at first to adjust to the idea of blocking everything out of my mind to really relax and allow myself to focus. After I got the hang of it and really saw how beneficial it could be for me, I aquired the skill by blocking out that important time just for myself and my thoughts.

  5. Hey Stacie,
    Life often gets in the way of things and we find it hard to take the time to stop and smell the roses, as they would say. It is so true, however, that when we finally do take that time to relax and clear our minds of all worries and stresses of the day, we can find that inner peace deep down inside and when we do, nothing else seems to matter but the moment. Life is too short, live life to the fullest potential.
